Bryce Eastwood

Bryce came to music late in life (17) for a musician, after meeting a local jazz master bass player by chance. At the time Bryce was at a crossroads, as his life was starting to go the wrong direction. The music and his faith turned it back in the right direction.

After a year of intense practice/study/and international travel, Bryce moved to New Orleans to attend Loyola University and study with some of New Orleans’ best musicians. Though clearly behind the curve initially, hard work soon help Bryce catch up.

Since moving to New Orleans Bryce has performed with groups led by a vast array of artist such as Roland Guerin, Matt Perrine, Antione Diel, Jameel Sharif, Shannon Powell, George Porter Jr., Dwight Fitch Jr., Galactic, Ike Stubblefield, the Dukes of Dixieland, Wessell “Warmdaddy” Anderson, Geoff Clapp, the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO), the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra (NOJO), the Uptown Jazz Orchestra (UJO), amongst others.

Performance highlights include: James Brown’s funeral celebration in Harlem, a performance on the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City, the reopening’s of the Harrah’s Theatre and the Blue Nile in New Orleans, as well as countless other local gigs with friends.

His compositions have been featured on Television- NCIS/New Orleans, Radio-WWOZ, with aChildren’s Book Set to release soon, and a soundtrack to a web series on the way.

Recently Bryce has begun to lead his own groups in town after exclusively supporting others. He led a summer Vocal Jazz series at the historic Maison Bourbon Jazz Club and hopes to record and release his first record as a leader in early 2018. Bryce also takes pride in leading worship at his church and being married to his college sweetheart, Brandy.
