Visiting Savannah

EAT, STAY & PLAY IN SAVANNAH

Yes, Savannah is a hot city, but we are also way cool!  This is by design since founder General James Oglethorpe planned the city in the 18th century with over 300 live oak trees in squares throughout the city to let us take a rest, visit, and cool out.  No other Southern city offers the river views and tree-lined squares, OR an entirely FREE week of world-class blues and jazz music during the Savannah Jazz Festival.  We are called the Hostess City for a reason, and here are several great suggestions for visiting us during the festival.

The Mansion on Forsyth Park

This 125-room Victorian Romanesque palace is a feast for the eyes (think Versace, Italian marble and gravity-defying chandeliers). The ultra-chic rooms with Egyptian cotton linens are mini palaces in themselves, with Italian marble bathrooms with oversized whirlpool tubs.  The Kessler-owned hotel pampers its guests with its full service Poseidon Spa, the upscale 700 Drayton restaurant, Casmir’s Lounge, and the Bohemian Art Gallery.

The DeSoto Savannah

Warm smiles from long-tenured staff, a museum-worthy lobby art gallery showcasing the Savannah College of Art & Design, imaginative cocktails at Edgar’s Proof & Provision, and farm-fresh ingredients at 1540 Room – The DeSoto is a Savannah experience to be savored and celebrated.
